mamokoai-ntsonyana.jpgMy name is Mamokoai Ntsonyana. I am fourteen years of age, the oldest of three brothers and three sisters. I live at in Hlotse with my mother and siblings. I am currently doing my form A at Hlotse High School. My favourite subjects are science, mathematics and business education. When I grow up, I want be am ambassador so that I can travel around the world teaching others to be kind, peaceful and to help other orphans and children who are vulnerable.

I want to be part of Basotho Girls Leadership Corps because I want to provide relief to my mother. My mother struggles to care for our family and I can see that she is suffering. I want to become someone she can be proud of so I can make all her pain go away. My favourite training topic is self-esteem and self-awareness. I now see how having these important qualities can help me achieve my success and make healthy decisions.

The most difficult thing about growing up as a girl in Lesotho is that most girls come across many challenges. For example, many girls encounter problems like being raped and getting pregnant without being married. But most importantly, the teenage stage seems to present many challenges to many young girls in Lesotho and I am grateful I have the Basotho Girls Leadership Corps to help me through these difficult times.

Thank you!

Yours faithfully,

Mamokoai
