Materials and ToolsElastic Thread - .7mm – length 35cm
20 pearls
20 silver spacers
Beading Needle: A fine wire that is re-usable and easy to thread.
Special Glue
Scissors
Felt or cloth covered work surface
Thread the needle with elastic. Put the elastic through the beading needle head. Pull it through until the elastic is double and the elastic ends are even.
String the pearls and spacers. String on the pearls and spacers through the needle onto the elastic starting with a pearl. The first pearl should be positioned 5 cm from the end of the elastic. Then alternate spacer, pearl, spacer until all 20 pearls and spacers are on the elastic. (A spacer will be the final item on the elastic).
Tie ends of bracelet. Hold each end of the pearl bracelet in your hands and tighten the elastic by pulling the elastic while holding the pearls and spacers tight together. When there is tension this is tight enough. Keep holding each end in each hand and now tie a square knot. (Right elastic over left elastic and under then left over right and under. Do this twice.)
Cut ends of elastic. Hold the bracelet in your left hand under the knot and pull the excess strands of the elastic with your right hand so they are lying on your left thumb. With scissors in your right hand cut as close to the knot as possible.
Glue knot with a drop of special glue to ensure the knot holds.
Check for quality. Check that the knot is hidden under a spacer, that the bracelet is tight and that the pearls and spacers alternate for a continuous loop.
Complete.
Congratulations you have made a Pearls for Girls Bracelet!
