Pearl Girls Celebrate International Women's Day
Although we celebrate women and girls every day, #InternationalWomen'sDay is extra special as we get to join with individuals and organizations around the world to celebrate the strong, confident women and girls who inspire us each day. Pictured below are some of the 2023 Pearl Girls striking this year's IWD pose to represent the theme #EmbraceEquity.

Meet Pearl Girl, Joana!
Joana lives in a small rural community near our Hlotse Centre with her father and grandmother. Her mother works in neighbouring South Africa and is rarely able to come home.
 Although she misses her mother, Joana says her father and grandmother are very supportive of her academic pursuits and participation in the Pearl Program.
“I love being here at Help Lesotho. With this pearls opportunity I learnt that this is a place I can constantly come and study, do my academic research and use the Rachel server, hence my goal is to perform well in my academics and get an A-star pass in my final examination."
